 Welcome to our new and revitalized webpage for all Men of the New Castle Presbytery.  My Name is Neeshard Ahamad and I am the Men’s Ministry Moderator for the New Castle Presbytery.  It is my responsibility to foster the growth of Men’s Ministry Initiatives within our Presbytery.

 

If you are interested in starting or growing a Men’s Ministry at your church then I want to hear from you.

 The Mission, Goals, and Priorities of

Presbyterian Men

 

Our Mission Statement "To equip and train all men to pursue the will of Jesus through: mission outreach; leadership; and discipleship". (As approved at the April 27, 2007 Annual Meeting)

 

Our Objectives- Men in Mission

 

  • Strengthen men's understanding of the church
  • Assist congregations in nurturing men to mature discipleship
  • Encourage men in the church through their commitment to Christ
  • Nurture men in their ministry to which they are called in their families, work, and ministry in their community and in the world
  • Involve men of various racial/ethnic backgrounds and ages together in Christian fellowship, mission, and worship

Ron Crick, the men’s ministry leader at Limestone Presbyterian Church, is Chairman of the 2008 Men’s Conference at Massanetta Springs.

 

The Fellowship/Conference is an annual Christian men’s event sponsored by the Synod of Mid Atlantic - Men’s Council - Presbyterian Church (USA). Our Mission in part is to encourage and support men to come to know Jesus Christ and be enriched in the Spirit. Come and join us for what promises to be an exciting weekend event full of great speakers, fellowship and good food.

Speakers/Leaders:

 

Rev. Dr. Tony Campolo is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. Founder and President of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion for Education (EAPE), Dr Campolo has worked to create, nurture and support programs for “at risk” children in cities across North America, and has helped establish schools and universities in several developing countries.

 

Rev. Dr Jerry L. Cannon is senior Pastor of the C. N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. Rev Cannon has served as the Associate Pastor of the North Eastern Presbyterian Church, Washington, DC, and currently serves as the President of the National Black Presbyterian Caucus of the PC (USA).

 

Dr. Young Ho Lee is an Emergency Room doctor in Tacoma Washington was instrumental in starting a mission to build a medical clinic and bakery in North Korea. He has a wonderful uplifting story to tell about the venture.

Rev George Goodman graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He became Pastor of the C. N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N C and served until 1990. He is currently Associate Presbyter for Presbytery of the Peaks in Lynchburg, VA.

Rev. Dr. Fred A. Holbrook serves as pastoral advisor for the Mid Atlantic Men and will be our Conference pastor for the weekend. Fred is Executive Director of the Massanetta Springs Camp and Conference Center. He is a graduate Union-PSCE and has served pastorates in NC and VA prior to coming to Massanetta in 2002.

 

Joycelyn Thompson has led our music at Massanetta in past years and they will return in 2008 to lift us up spiritually with music as only she can.

 

Eric Rice-Johnston will be playing the bag pipes for all to enjoy.
