Gulf Coast Mission Trips for Youth!

You have wanted to take your youth group to the gulf coast… and now Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is making it possible!  PDA’s first “Youth Week” will take place June 22 - July 27.

This program will allow youth to help with the gulf coast recovery effort while staying in one of the volunteer villages sponsored by PDA, the disaster response and relief agency of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Each volunteer village regularly houses work teams from churches across the country assisting with the response.  The week of June 22 will focus on bringing youth to assist in ongoing rebuilding efforts.

Young volunteers must be age16 and older and will assist such projects as rebuilding structures, cleaning up parks or painting homes. There may also be opportunities to help local churches with Vacation Bible School or other activities.

Those participating in Youth Weeks will be housed in a PDA volunteer village in Gulfport, MS or Houma, LA. The youth-to-adult ratio will be five youth to one adult.

Cost will be $20 per person per night, which covers food and lodging. A flyer with basic information about the Youth Week program is available free of charge through the PCUSA.
