Strengthen Families
The Delaware Healthy Marriage Coalition invites representatives of the faith, health, education and social services communities to a conference that will explore how to achieve safe, stable and strong families by promoting healthy marriage and preventing family dysfunction.
This conference is intended to:
· Provide an overview of the state of the family here in Delaware;
· Provide an introduction to the federal Healthy Marriage initiative;
· Present programs known to promote healthy marriages and support strong families;
· Present marriage promoting and family strengthening activities that are culturally competent;
· Identify problems that lead to unhealthy marriages and weak families; and
· Identify specific ways that faith communities and other community-based organizations can effectively promote healthy marriages and strong families.
This conference is for:
· Faith, health and other professionals who are in position to assist and counsel individuals and families
· Clergy and others who prepare couples for marriage
· Advocates and consumers concerned about children and families
· People wanting to learn more about marriage and families
· Health and welfare professionals who work closely with Delaware communities.
