Support Aging
The Peninsula-Delaware Conference Senior Adult Task Force, along with the Delmarva Faith in Action Network, invites representatives of the faith, health, and social services communities to a conference that will address the needs, opportunities and other issues presented by the new majority population of this area: the elderly.
This conference is intended to:
· Provide an overview of aging on the Delmarva Peninsula;
· Provide an introduction to the problems of aging in our area;
· Present model programs that congregations can adopt to work with their aging populations;
· Identify needs unique to the aging population and those who care for them; and
· Identify specific ways that faith communities and other community-based organizations can become involved in senior adult ministries.
This conference is for:
· Faith, health and other professionals who are in position to assist and counsel individuals and families
· Clergy and others, including faith community nurses and lay health advisors, who counsel families
· All who work with the elderly in the community
· Advocates and consumers concerned about the aging and their caregivers
· People wanting to learn more about this growing segment of the population
· Family caregivers
